After we thoroughly prepare your existing floor surface (we repair any cracks or pits to make sure the surface is smooth and level), we apply the basecoat with your choice of color and flakes. Once this process is complete we apply a chemical resistant top coat to ensure durability.
POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORS
A polished concrete floor has a glossy, mirror-like finish. Heavy duty machines are used to gradually grind down a concrete surface to the desired degree of shine and smoothness, similar to sanding wood. The reflectivity of the floor can also be controlled by using different levels of concrete polishing. Maintaining polished floors requires dust mopping and occasional use of a cleaning product.
ACID STAIN
Acid stain is a translucent, penetrating stain that slightly etches and permanently changes the color of concrete by reacting chemically with the hydrated lime in the concrete. When deciding on a look for your new flooring project, it’s important to understand that acid stain is not an overcoat like paint. If your concrete floor has drywall, mud, paint, wood stain, tile adhesives, carpet adhesives, grease, pet stains, etc either from construction or years of use, preparation of the concrete surface is crucial to achieving ideal results.
